Garmin Venu 2 Review – A Look At The Comfort And Features Of This Workout Watch
The Garmin Venu 2 is part of the Garmin family and like the name implies, it is a smartwatch. It is made by Garmin and is designed to be an aid for athletes in any type of sport. However, I couldn’t test Garmin’s pregnancy or menstrual tracking features. There are no new updates currently to report for the Venu 2.
One feature that Garmin is really proud of is the impressive display. The watch has a 1.3-inch clear touch screen and a high-definition, widescreen mode. Some reviews have indicated that the screen is a little hard to press when the digital crown is pressed. I wasn’t able to test this functionality when I had the unit for a few days.
The GPS on the Garmin Venu 2s is also impressive. You can select what unit you want to use in your car with the addition of a Bluetooth device. You can track your mileage during your daily runs or just walking if you prefer. Another thing that you can do is use the Garmin Connect system. With this feature, you can stay connected to your Garmin via email, Bluetooth or cell phone. For the most part, I was impressed with the battery life on the Garmin smartwatch.
My review unit is the black version with grey digital hands. While the free version looks like an old fashioned quartz wrist watch, it is actually made from a rubber material that is resistant to tear or abrasion. If you buy the watch online, you may find that the cost of the product is cheaper than the older models you may have. The Garmin Connect system allows you to synchronize your watches and view workout statistics over the internet so that you can see your stats on the screen in Garmin Connect.
In this article, I will discuss some of the other smartwatch features on the Garmin Venu 2s including the heart rate monitor, the pedometer, the water resistant up to thirty meters and the anti-glare display. The heart rate monitor allows you to monitor your workout intensity and speed without stopping. This helps to reduce the number of times you need to stop during a workout.
The pedometer allows you to monitor your walking progress. In the smartwatch mode, this feature will track both distance walked and time walked. I really like that the Garmin Connect system allows me to see my stats on the Garmin web page rather than having to open the Garmin mobile app. The last feature is the anti-glare display which is very nice in bright sunlight. The anti-glare reduces the glare on your screen and makes the display much easier to read.
In this review, I am going to focus on the heart rate monitor on the Garmin Venu 2s. While it did not receive a perfect score on the accelerometer section, overall this was a great feature. The heart rate monitor functions by having the top button light up when you are using the watch so you know you are recording your workout. The overall rating for the heart rate monitor is 9 beats per minute, which is pretty good for an automatic fitness watch.
The overall design and style of the Garmin Venu 2 are similar to the older model, but it does have one advantage that the Fitbit Force can’t offering: being an android watch. android watches are limited to being just a form of a watch. They are not as customizable or technologically advanced as the Fitbit Force or other android watches. However, the Garmin Venu 2s does have all of the features you would expect from an excellent fitness watch, at a price that most people can afford.
