Comparison Test of the Honor MagicBook 14iction Intel Edition
The Honor MagicBook 14 2021 Intel Edition features an ultra modern design that is stylish, powerful and extremely refined. If you are looking for a laptop that has all the key elements of great design combined together, the Honor MagicBook is a fine option. The previous version of this laptop came with an AMD processor, but the upgrade to Intel made it a better value. I’m not sure why there’s an extra expense, but it does make the laptop much more powerful. You get excellent specifications for only a couple of hundred dollars more than the old model, which certainly makes it a great value.
The latest laptop from Honor, the Honor MagicBook 14 21001, comes with a very large display, a wide viewing angle, a comfortable keyboard and the latest cooling systems. It also boasts a backlit keyboard, which adds to the comfort and ease of using the laptop. The screen is an eleven-inch capacitive touch screen, which is sharp and bright. It has a high-glossy matte finish, making the screen easy to use.
The keyboard on the laptop is a full sized keyboard with large, high density keys, providing excellent tactile feedback. Although the keyboard on the old model was fine, the newer keyboard has some nice additions, such as larger function buttons and dedicated arrow keys, which make working on the trackpad a joy. I would have liked a full-size keyboard with dedicated keys as the trackpad is just as small as it is on some of my other laptops. One of the keys on the left side of the keyboard is actually divided into two keys, making entering text a much easier task. One thing I would like to say about the keyboard on this laptop is that the wrist rest is too short for my taste, however the additional keys do provide for some additional comfort.
The battery life on the Honor MagicBook 14 2100 Intel Edition lasted over eight hours. With the battery life, I was able to completely remove the laptop from my back pack, allowing it to be carried around without any concerns about being on the go. When I used the laptop, I found that it boots up quickly and navigates quickly, providing excellent support for my typing tasks. The screen brightness is great for reading, with accurate color representation, especially when watching videos on YouTube. The speakers on the laptop were a bit loud for my needs, but the surround sound feature definitely added to the enjoyment I got from using the laptop.
Compared to the older i7 series of laptops, the Honor MagicBook was not much faster. However, with the newer Intel processors inside, the performance increase was noticeable. It appears to be mostly because of the it’s enhanced cores and threads, which allow for greater speed and performance on this laptop. When upgrading to the i7 series, my netbook would frequently freeze up and I would have to restart the operating system.
One of the better features on the Honor MagicBook 14 is its battery life, which lasted over eight hours on a single charge. Considering the fact that I regularly use internet applications, this was not bad at all. When considering the battery life of netbooks these days, I am pleased that the Honor MagicBook 14 comes with a high battery life. The lack of an external keyboard also saved me a lot of time when typing. If you plan on using your laptop for extended periods of time, consider buying a keyboard, especially if you are going to be typing a lot.
A new feature that I am happy about is the fact that the Honor MagicBook 14 can handle dual core processors. It seems like many laptop computers that are in the markets today are only able to handle one or two cores. These dual core processors make your laptop much faster, which means that you will be able to do more work and faster when using your computer. However, my laptop had difficulty operating under load of multiple programs at the same time. When I activated the dual core processor feature on my laptop, everything became much easier to handle.
When looking at the price of these laptops compared to the previous generation laptops, I am very impressed. Even though the price is a bit higher, the performance is much better. There is a lot of power packed into these laptops. The Honor MagicBook 14 comes with an innovative cooling design that keeps your laptop from overheating. With the extra cooling fan and aluminum heat sink, I am sure that you will not regret your purchase.
