Microsoft Surface Pro 6 Features: Are They Worth Upgrading To?
The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is one of the most exciting Windows tablets available today. It combines many of the best tablet features that other devices offer but in a smaller package. This means that consumers can have the same amount of functionality for a fraction of the price. In this review we will look at some of the important features of the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 that make it so special.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 features the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, it also comes with i7 and i5 variant starting from $700. Its built-in laptop-to Tablet feature makes it an all-in-one portable machine for individuals of any age. It has powerful graphics and high-speed wireless internet. However the best part about the Surface Pro is its extremely impressive specs, which makes it suitable for all sorts of professionals.
The specs include a full keyboard with full QWERTY keypad, an incredibly large display for a Windows tablet, excellent audio output and speakers. The main function of the screen is for viewing the graphical user interface or navigation, although you can also use it to view documents and files on your local hard drive or network storage. Furthermore, in terms of the camera the unit comes with 7 megapixels, which allows for extremely sharp pictures. The images are displayed directly on the screen, rather than being stored onto a card like on many other Windows 10 home machines. This is an excellent advantage as it means that you can take far more pictures and edit them far quicker. Battery life has improved by about ten hours on the Microsoft Surface Pro, although this varies between models.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T490s has many of the same specs as the Pro, including a large touch sensitive screen which is really good for making sure that you can work quickly and accurately. In terms of battery life the ThinkPad tops the charts, lasting up to five hours on a single charge. The ThinkPad T490s also includes a USB charging station, which means that you won’t be stranded on a bus or train when you need to charge your laptop. Furthermore the ports include a micro USB charging port, a headphone jack, a microphone and speaker. If you need additional functionality you can add additional software such as PDF reader or Office Suite.
When it comes to the processing unit inside the laptops the Microsoft Surface Pro features an Intel Core i7-based dual-core processor. Although dual-core processors are generally not as powerful as quad-core processors, they are very much able to handle intensive tasks. Moreover the i7-based laptop within this range is much quicker and can cope with tasks that many other lower spec laptops can not.
As with many of the other dual-core-based laptops in this range in the Windows operating system will not be installed on this system. This means that you will need to use a third party Windows XP driver and software program to help load up and run Windows properly. One nice feature of the Lenovo ideapad slim laptops is that you can upgrade the firmware if you encounter any problems or start experiencing slow speeds. Unfortunately the software drivers are not included, so you will have to download and install them using your own driver software.
When it comes to the video card, the Toshiba Satellite XP certified can carry six months of charge. Furthermore it offers support for the Windows XP Tablet PC program which means that you can download and install all the necessary software programs on your new surface 3 laptop. The only problem with this tablet is that it lacks USB ports – although you can expect to see an update to add these in a few months time. The screen on this laptop is also relatively small but it is well above the size of most standard sized tablets. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, meaning that it is perfect for those who are still using the old style keyboard.
Although technically brilliant the Toshiba satellite XP is simply not a laptop that you will want to use on a daily basis. If you are only going to use this model for occasional business trips and casual internet access then this will be fine. However, for anyone who wants to use this tablet as their main machine or as their main desktop replacement they may find that these are just not worth upgrading to. If you want to enjoy a complete Windows environment on your new tablet then you will want to purchase one of the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 features.
